Alzheimer's and Dementia

Someone once said "the mind is a terrible thing to waste" - not referring to diseases of the brain but today we know that our brains are affected by nutrition, drugs, physical activity and mental stimulation.  But there are many for whom all of this has made little difference.

When Alzheimer's Disease or dementia become evident in an individual, it is almost always a late diagnosis.  The affects of the disease can be seen when we look back at activities, and attitudes, personality changes and other factors that, had we realized it at the time, were clear signals of some form of mental decline.

The Alzheimer's Association is the world's leading organization in helping people understand, cope with and fight against these conditions of the brain.  We have linked to many of their publications here and will add to this list as more material becomes available.
